Ingredients to be boiled:
- 4 medium sized potato
- 2 tbsp black channa (black chickpea)
- 2 tbsp cabuli channa (white chickpea)
- 1 tbsp sprouted whole moong
- 1 tsp red chilly powder*
- 1/2 tsp turmeric powder
Additional Items:
- 1 tsp fresh crushed ginger
- 1 Pinch of hing*
- 1 green chilly finely cut
- 1/2 tsp lemon juice
- 2 tbsp fresh coriander finely cut
- 1 tsp garam masala
- 1 tsp raw rice flour
- 1/2 tsp salt or as per your taste
For the coating:
- 1/4 cup rice flour
- 3/4 cup rava (also known as cream of wheat or suji)
Directions:
- Boil all the ingredients mentioned above for boiling until it is well cooked and can be mashed easily;
- Mash all the boiled items and add the additional items mentioned above and mix all the ingredients together;
- Make into small balls and flatten them. Now coat with rice flour and rava in the ratio of 1:3 on both side of the cutlet
- Pan fry each cutlet on both sides till the colour changes to slight brown.
- Remove from pan and serve with Mint Chutney with Yogurt or Coriander & Mint Chutney (Green Sauce) with Coconut

*Tips:
- I use kashmiri chilly powder. However, you can use any chilly powder you are accustomed to
- hing is also called asafoetida in english. It is used to reduce the bloating effect of the lentils/chickpea ingredients
- This can be served as an appetizer or snack.
