Pork Manchurian

Ingredients for marination:

  • 1 kg pork
  • 1 1/2 tbsp malvani masala*
  • 1 tsp turmeric
  • 1 tsp finely chopped fresh ginger
  • 1 tsp finely chopped fresh garlic
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tsp vinegar

Ingredients for cooking:

  • 3 tbsp grapeseed oil*
  • 2 diced medium onions
  • 1 tsp freshly crushed ginger
  • 1 tsp freshly crushed garlic
  • 1 jalapeno
  • 2 tbsp manchurian powder
  • 2 tbsp soya sauce
  • 2 tbsp tomato sauce
  • 1/4 cup freshly cut coriander leaves

Direction:

  1. Wash the meat, keep it aside in a colander for the water to drain for around half an hour;
  2. Mix all the ingredients mentioned under marination section and marinate it for a minimum of 2 hours. The best output will be if you marinate it for 24 hours in the fridge;
  3. Now transfer the marinated met into the cooking pot and cook on medium flame till well done;
  4. Heat oil in a wok, add onion and fry it well. Once the onion are cooked, add ginger and garlic and mix it up;
  5. Cut jalapeno into slices and remove all seeds. Now add this sliced jalapeno into the wok and fry well;
  6. Now add manchurian powder and fry well
  7. Take the liquid from the cooking pot in which pork was cooked and add it into this wok and let it dry out on slow flame;
  8. Once the liquid has been absorbed, add soya sauce and tomato sauce and mix well;
  9. Once the mix becomes hot, add the cooked pork and cut coriander leaves and mix all the ingredients well. The dish is now ready to be served.

You can serve this dish with plain rice, roti or naan (flat bread).

Tips:

  • You can use any chilli powder instead of malvani masala;
  • You can use any oil instead of grapeseed oil;
